Trauma Releasing Exercises
Haus Habbinga – Ovelgonne, Germany
Date: Sept. 26-27, 2009
In this 2-day workshop, you will learn how stress and trauma affect the human experience and how to transform and incorporate these past experiences into your present life. Three primary processes are explained:
1 The body and stress/trauma: During stress or trauma, the body experiences a startle reflex response and shock reaction. This process alters the tension and tone of the muscles. If unresolved, these muscular changes develop into patterns of chronic tensions that eventually create additional body pains and illnesses.
2 The brain and stress/trauma: In uncomplicated terminology, this workshop explains how traumatic memories are processed and encoded differently from memories of ordinary events. An understanding of this process helps the individual make sense of their thought processes and emotional expressions after a traumatic event.
3 Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) are a breakthrough in trauma recovery and stress management. It is a body-centered method of recovery that helps release the deep chronic tension created in the body during a traumatic or stressful experience. It is easily learned, immediately effective and self-empowering because it can be used without the guidance of a therapist. This method has been used successfully in 29 different countries with diverse populations and cultures, assisting in mass trauma, family trauma, organizational trauma and social trauma.
