About TRE® is an innovative series of exercises that helps the body release deeply held tension, stress, & trauma.  Created by David Berceli, PhD, TRE® safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system.  All mammals have this instinctual healing response which neuroscientists call the “freeze discharge” (Scaer, 2010.)  The exercises are safe and can be modified for almost all body types.  TRE® is a cutting edge treatment that is being taught in 37 countries and is presently being studied by the Veterans Administration.  After doing TRE®, many people report feelings of peace and well-being.

Training Highlights

  • Anatomy, neurology, and physiology as it relates to TRE®
  • Understanding the tremor response
  • Introduction to the Polyvagal Theory (Stephen Porges)
  • Defense reactions as they relate to TRE®
  • Containment and grounding strategies
  • Introduction to the basic skills of working with individuals and groups
  • Introduction to TRE® and personal tremoring experiences

Upon completion of the Module 1 training, you will have a deep understanding of the benefits of TRE® for yourself and have an understanding of how to use TRE® to help others heal. (Please note that Module 2 and other requirements are needed to be certified.) TRE® is practiced by psychotherapists, massage therapist, PTs, acupuncturists, coaches, chiropractors and many other types of helpers.
