Got Stress?

Bamboomoves offers both  Neurogenic yoga/TRE Classes and workshops for stress management, tension and/or trauma release, which we are all impacted by.  (Note that Recurring classes to compliment workshops occurring throughout the year are posted in recurring workshop section- next class Sunday,   July 28). Trauma can be looked at as anything that is too overwhelming to a person physically or emotionally.

The neurogenic yoga/TRE workshop incorporates specific soothing and strengthening sequences and strategies for stress release. The last part of the workshop is dedicated to releasing stress by shaking or eliciting our natural healing vibration mechanism (neurogenic tremors).   The group experience actually helps us feel safer biologically, so the healing process can deepen. It’s not the events that cause damage to our health, it’s how we respond to them!

TRE (Tension and Trauma Release Exercises) and Neurogenic Yoga assist the body in releasing deep contracted patterns of stress, tension and trauma.  By allowing ourselves to shake or vibrate (by inducing therapeutic muscle or neurogenic tremors) in a safe and controlled environment, tension patterns can release. This results in soothing or down-regulating the nervous system. The participant practices at his/her own pace and time throughout the session. The process is simple to do, can be modified for any body and can be learned quickly. Reported benefits of TRE and Neurogenic Yoga include reduced anxiety, stress, symptoms of PTSD as well as reduced back pain and lessened negative auto-immune responses. People also report experiencing enhanced energy, endurance and flexibility as well as improved sleeping patterns.

What to expect at the workshop on Sunday July 14:

  1. Explanation of Neurogenic Yoga/TRE and focus on an interesting aspect of our neurobiology
  2. Neurogenic Yoga/TRE blended sequence.
  3. Shake it off!
  4. Final relaxation/integration.

Note: There will be an option to share, write and/or draw about your experience. If you are someone who doesn’t like to share in a group but is eager to participate, no pressure, you are welcome.
