4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

301 S. Bedford Street, Madison, WI, 53703

This weekly donation-based class meets each Tuesday from 4:00 – 5:00pm CDT and Wednesday from 10:30 – 11:30am CDT. Preregistration is required to attend.

Each class will include a guided somatic practice followed by TRE®. We will intentionally consider and study the way somatic education feeds your tremoring experience and supports the unwinding of tension in a gentle way.

Somatic exercises involve powerful (yet subtle) movements that retrain neuromuscular patterns of tension by reorganizing the way your nervous system controls and senses your tissues.

Previous TRE experience required  — this class is intended for people who have already learned how to do TRE safely and with self-regulation either through an introductory workshop, group or session with an approved Provider, or by learning and practicing at least several times with an online video such as TFA’s brief official how to do TRE video or our longer (unofficial) how-to TRE video.

Registration: Visit our scheduling page and scroll down to bottom of page to find scheduling widget. Click on “Classes” tab to view the weekly schedule. Select the class you would like to attend and follow prompts for registration. Your email confirmation will include the zoom link and password.

Donations: Using PayPal you can make a donation for class. Please use notes to list class(es) you are donating to.

Ellen McKenzie is a Certified Yoga Therapist (CIAYT), Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, and a TRE® Provider and Trainer Trainee. In 2015, she was Introduced to TRE® as a personal practice by Alex Greene. Experimenting with TRE® in her own body planted seeds of curiosity for how this method could support her clients. The systemic support and grounding she personally found through TRE® felt like a powerful tool that would both serve her as a yoga therapist and increase the efficacy of her clients’ treatment plans. This has proven to be the case. Many of Ellen’s clients report that TRE® allows them to access their breath more clearly, feel their body more subtly and explore their felt experience from a place of safety and curiosity. In addition to her client work, Ellen offers TRE® workshops and weekly classes using somatic exercises as a preparation for TRE®. All of her offerings are currently available online.
